The Twisted Minds of Aimee and Angie

We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us something is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in ourselves we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight or any experience that reveals the human spirit. - EE Cummings

Whatcha think?

At Cameron's school they do this thing called "Literary Character Dress Up Day" and you have to pick a character out of a book and come to school dressed as that character on Halloween (which will aggravate Cameron to no end because he's itching to get into that Robin from Teen Titans costume).

So, any suggestions?

Well, if you consider that a comicbook is still a book, then the Teen Titans still fits the bill!

Failing that... Lestat from Anne Rice's novels? Or Dracula or Frankenstein?

Or Harry Potter, if you don't want to put in toooo much effort. :-p

Not knowing what Cameron reads( or what age he is)- I think if he likes Robin; he might like Huck Finn or Tom Sawyer... Also very minimal outfits.

I'm trying to think of a HEROIC kid. Zero's my hero( from school house rock). The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is coming out soon... maybe a character from that book would be good.
Or Flying Monkey from Wizard of Oz. What little boy doesn't want to be a flying monkey?

Maybe talk to his teacher to see if Robin is acceptable- or agree to let him be Robin for the REAL holloween after school.

Ooooo Jay, I like Dracula. Hmmm...

And Drew, Cameron is 5 and he loves all kinds of different characters but he's not really into anything I'd consider "literary" yet. I love all your Oz suggestions. What do think about the Tin Man? I don't know why but I've always loved him.

Now worries, I'm going to let him wear his Teen Titans Robin costume when I take him trick or treating. He'd be extremely grumpy if I didn't ;)

Well I was in a Oz LARP and played the tin soldier of oz.
Because I had remembered the Tin Man of Oz as being the first Oz book that I had read myself. I had more fun making the costume then I did ACTUALLY playing the solider.

However I think that's a question for Cameron... YOU might like the tin woodsman, but he might be a scarecrow man. I liked the Tin Man because he was an honorable soul who was just trying to get by... and I liked dressing up as the tin soldier because I put on silver make up, a silver sweatsuit( which I drew on the shirt) and spats. I think however Wizard of Oz might be a good way to go... as any kid has seen it a couple of times.
You could also try to sell Tin Man as OLD SCHOOL Cyborg ;-)
